Free range egg – Range tree planting and biodiversity

Supported by the Woodland Trust, we worked with the Lakes Free Range Egg Company to assess the biodiversity benefits of tree planting on free range hen ranges. As part of this 5-year project, we undertook a series of nine ecological assessments of areas where trees had been planted up to ten years previously on free range hen ranges owned by producers who supply the Lakes Free Range Egg Company’.
