Upper River Lune – Help for Forgotten Farms Project

This project involved working closely with the wider Lune Rivers Trust team to provide resource protection advice to farmers in the Upper Lune catchment. Through the project we prepared detailed nutrient management plans and farm infrastructure audits and highlighted opportunities for infrastructure improvements on many of the farms to reduce the risk of diffuse pollution and improve water quality in the Upper Lune. Improvements such as roofing uncovered, manure stores, re-concreting broken yards and fencing off watercourses were subsequently completed on farms in the catchment with capital funding through the Forgotten Farms project.
